About the owner & founder of DJT Casting:
Derek James Trapp started working in the film industry in 2017, and has been making a living in the industry since then. He has experience in front of the camera as an actor, behind the scenes as a crew member, has worked in the production office, worked from home casting for productions, and has experience doing voice acting, narrating and doing some stunts.
Derek works with the following 3 unions- ACTRA, Directors Guild Of Canada and IATSE 856. He also has a vast amount of experience on non union productions, and his acting resume and crew resume show that Derek has experience, knowledge and expertise in numerous departments/ positions in the film industry.
His goal is to continue his career in the film industry, constantly learn more, grow as a person, become better and continue building his casting company, acting career and future in this constantly evolving industry that he loves!

Where it started:
Derek started off as a background performer in 2017, working alongside Keanu Reeves in the movie Siberia.
After Derek worked as a background performer on the movie (Siberia) for 4 days he fell in love with the industry, wanted to pursue it more and worked extremely hard to make it a career!
He launched DJT Casting to introduce people to the film industry, and help show people how much this industry has to offer.

Since Derek started working in the film industry in 2017 he’s seen first hand just how fast the industry is growing, how much opportunity there is & he’s very excited for what’s to come in the Winnipeg film community!
Derek believes that the best is yet to come, and that the Winnipeg film industry will only get busier each and every year.

HELENE SERADILLA: DJT CASTING ASSISTANT
Locally born and raised in Winnipeg, MB. Graduate from Red River College Polytech with Business Administration, building a career in Human Resources, Accounting, Entrepreneurship receiving a diploma and most recent studies in Occupational Health and Safety.
Helene has been involved in the film industry since August 2022 as a background performer on several different films, such as the Spencer Sisters , Safe Haven, Psycho Killer, Hallmark shows including A brush with Christmas, Hanukkah on Rye, Made for Each Other, and Capturing Love.
Helene soon found her passion in the film industry. In November 2022, she quickly and enthusiastically became part of ACTRA Union and wasted no time starting casting with DJT CASTING in May 2023.
At this point Helene had numerous experiences working alongside Derek on previous productions. Derek and Helene have since worked on 2 shows called Acting Good Season 2 and Don’t Even, and they are currently working on a true crime series called Finally Caught Season 2.
They have continuous projects on the go, and this is just the beginning!
Helene is a very important part of DJT CASTING, and is always working hard behind the scenes on productions to make sure everything goes smooth.
